David Tennant sees double

TennantDavid Tennant takes a double starring role as twin instructors at rival schools in "Nativity 2," a follow up to Darlene Isitt's 2009 U.K. hit comedy. Pic, backed by U.K. distrib Entertainment One, began shooting March. 17 for six days within the British Midlands and North Wales. Such as the first movie, the reduced-budget follow up relies around a college wearing a Christmas performance competing along with other schools. Tennant, most widely known for "Physician Who," plays a temp teacher who must lead several under-achieving kids within the national contest, while his golden-boy brother (also Tennant) leads the task from the classy rival school. Written and directed by Isitt, the pic is created by Nick Johnson of Mirrorball Films, and co-funded by Premiere Picture and Media Professional Six. Contact the range newsroom at news@variety.com
